Rep. Shekarchi honored as Ambassador of the Year by RI Hospitality Association

STATE HOUSE – Chairman of the House Committee on Labor K. Joseph Shekarchi was honored by the Rhode Hospitality Association on Dec. 2 at their annual dinner at Twin River Casino in Lincoln.  Representative Shekarchi was presented with the Hospitality Ambassador of the Year Award for his work in supporting the hospitality industry in the General Assembly and for representing many within the hotel industry through his private law practice.

“It was a great honor to accept this award from the Rhode Island Hospitality Association, a truly great organization that helps and contributes to our state on a daily basis,” said Representative Shekarchi (D-Dist. 23, Warwick).  “I’d like to thank the association for this recognition.  Tourism is one of our state’s greatest assets and the Hospitality Association is always making sure that we utilize our natural and cultural gifts to the best of our ability, bringing money and visitors to Rhode Island every day of the year,” added Representative Shekarchi.

The Rhode Island Hospitality Association (RIHA) represents over 600 foodservice, hotels, vendors and hospitality members in the state of Rhode Island and has been the voice of the hospitality and foodservice industries in the state since 1982.
