Rep. Shekarchi and Sen. Lynch Prata honored by RI Partnership for Home Care

STATE HOUSE – Rep. K. Joseph Shekarchi and Sen. Erin Lynch Prata were honored by the Rhode Island Partnership for Home Care today for their advocacy efforts that support home and community-based health care service delivery.  The presentation took place during the “Rhode Island Home Care and Hospice Day” at the Rhode Island State House.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the RI Partnership for Home Care.  There is a vast difference in the morale of patients when they receive quality home and community based care as opposed to institutional care and we need to ensure that patients continue to have the options of receiving the care that they need in the comfort of their own homes,” said Representative Shekarchi (D-Dist. 23, Warwick).

“The RI Partnership for Home Care is a wonderful organization that has always put the individualized needs of its patients first and I thank them for this tremendous honor,” said Senator Lynch Prata (D-Dist. 31, Warwick, Cranston).  “With our systems of health care rapidly changing, it’s crucial to have organizations like the partnership that consistently advocate for and deliver the best care possible to our state’s patients.”

Established in 1990, the Rhode Island Partnership for Home Care represents all of the licensed home care, home nursing care, and hospice agencies serving clients in every Rhode Island community. The role of the Partnership is to provide a unified voice in the promotion of standards of excellence in home care and hospice services and to advance the position of home care as an integral component of Rhode Island’s acute care and long term care health system.
