Speaker Shekarchi helps open new casino gaming area at Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort
Executives at Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort officially opened 40,000 square feet of new gaming space in a multi-year expansion of its first floor, thereby fulfilling a key component of the Marc A. Crisafulli Economic Development Act enacted by the General Assembly and signed into law by Governor McKee in 2022.
Joining Craig Eaton, Head of Bally’s Rhode Island Operations, Paul Juliano, Senior Vice President and Tony Rohrer, Regional Vice President & General Manager of the property were Governor Daniel McKee, Speaker of the House K. Joseph Shekarchi, Senator Frank Ciccone who serves as Chair of Joint Committee on State Lottery, Lincoln Town Administrator Philip Gould and George Nee, President, AFL-CIO. Craig Sculos, Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs served as Master of Ceremonies. Rep. Scott Slater, Rep. Maryann Shallcross Smith, and Rep. William W. O’Brien also participated in the event.
“I was pleased to sponsor the legislation that paved the way for today’s grand opening ceremony, and I congratulate Bally’s on its continued investment in our State and its workforce,” said Speaker Shekarchi.
According to Mr. Juliano, the new gaming area includes 355 slot machines, 55 table games and 27 Stadium-style games. “Our expanded footprint blends tastefully with the existing facility’s exterior and interior design and incorporates several Asian-inspired design elements and Feng shui design principles,” Juliano noted. “At the far side of the expansion is a large waterfall feature and a first-class high limit gaming area. A new Food Hall provides seating for 150 guests in a comfortable and contemporary layout complete including an exclusive private dining area with exterior views. The façade of the food hall is another nod to positivity in Asian culture, symbolizing a bird’s nest, comprised of overlapping stained wood slats of varying lengths to create a three-dimensional effect. Adjacent to the new casino bar that features seating for 16, is “Plume & Proof” cigar lounge with access to an outdoor smoking patio.” The lounge is envisioned to provide guests with the opportunity to enjoy unique cigars paired with spirits in a space that feels like an upscale members-only club.”
“We are tremendously pleased to celebrate today’s grand opening with so many of our partners in this project, including Governor McKee, House and Senate Leadership, our union workforce and our regulators, the Division of Lottery,” said Mr. Eaton. “Our expanded gaming floor, combined with other property improvements we have made or plan to make soon, represents a $100 million investment in Rhode Island and is further proof that we will continue to improve our products and experiences in order to generate much needed revenue for our home state.”
Earlier, this year, Bally’s opened Spa Light – International Spa, the region’s largest Korean spa at 14,000 square feet. It offers a host of services including massages, body scrubs, facials, skin care, and lash services. The spa also features luxurious saunas and a Korean-style bath house touting vitality pools, hot tubs, and cold plunge pools. Additional offerings include steam rooms, seated showers, body scrub tables and well-appointed men’s and women’s changing rooms. The four luxurious dome sauna experiences include a Finnish-style hot sauna, an elemental Jade Room, a Himalayan Salt Room, and an invigorating Ice Room. Additionally, a dedicated dining area is offered for spa customers that features specialty Korean dishes.
“Today is an important day for not only the tradesmen and women we represent who built this beautiful addition, but also for the close to one thousand union members who service and operate this facility day in and day out,” said George Nee. “We celebrate the fact that over 20 unions and hundreds of union members played a role in expanding, modernizing, and operating Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort. Thank you for your continued commitment to preserve and enhance the family sustaining wages and benefits opportunities that Bally’s provides to our members.”
Suffolk Construction served as the general contractor.
